We had no idea what Burmese food was but that wasn’t going to stop us. And in true Ryan and Jess fashion, we opted to experience this culinary adventure with none other than a hole-in-the-wall cheap eats that literally only seats 8 people at the counter. You know Yamo is going to be good when there’s a line out the door.
Our mango chicken and Yamo hot house noodles (priced at $6.00) were prepared in 5 minutes by three hard working Mama-suns. They were all the height of my 4’11” grandmom with lines on their faces that seemed to say they were at this gig for 10 years too many. But, wow, what a well-oiled machine those three were.
I’ll never forget my first Burmese food experience in San Francisco.

How about instead of house, we live on a boat?! That way whenever we get sick of weather we can just drive our boat to the next port.
Camped at Turtle Rock Resort in Gold Beach, OR, where my suspicion that Oregon has the best campgrounds was confirmed. Not only were the hot showers FREE (a rare case these days) but I washed my hair (also a rare case these days) under double shower heads! And then I toweled off under a heat lamp. That’s what I call “luxury.”
